Carolyn is the parent of two “thirty-something” children. She has a BA in Psychology from UCLA. Carolyn also has a California K-12 teaching credential. She has been a Waldorf class teacher for grades 1-8 and has spent the last 16 years at the Waldorf School in Los Alto, CA. She has a lot of experience working with parents of children in preschool through middle school.
Carolyn believes Kim Payne’s four areas of “supporting with less” provide a series of compasses for parents to use to find their own family’s way to reducing their own stresses and and discovering how to enact their values with their children.
She feels the genius of Kim Payne’s work lies in combining his recognition of Cumulative Stress Disorder and his understanding of the Neuroscience of Change. We know that our good intentions often do not come to fulfillment. Carolyn appreciates that Kim recognizes that this journey requires support from fellow travelers.
Andrea Danneker, M.A.Certified Simplicity Parenting Group Leader©

(818) 438-9730
Andrea is a mother of three and has been working professionally with young children and families for over 14 years. She began her career as a California credentialed teacher in a public elementary school classroom and with reverence found herself drawn to the unique relationship between a parent and a child. Later, as a mom, she became involved in the slow parenting movement which validated what she knew instinctively – that parents are the answers to their own questions about their children – parents know and have what their children need. In her work with families, Andrea focuses on uniting parents with one another in their parenting, supporting them to bring more awareness and attention to their relationships with their children, and helping them to release what is not working for their family to create space for what they want and value as parents.
Andrea’s work with families is strongly guided by her studies of Attachment Theory, Waldorf Education, and the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) philosophy as well as her understanding of healthy brain development and the human need for purpose, inspiration, and connectedness.
Andrea is a writer, provides personal family coaching, presents lectures, leads workshops, and facilitates Simplicity Parenting Groups for schools, parent organizations, and other establishments.
Andrea lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband and three children. She believes parenting is a spiritual experience, one that offers a chance to discover our wholeness. Preserving the parent child relationship – the context in which the child and the parent unfolds – is what her work is all about.
